After getting settled, head to Malibu Country Mart for lunch at Taverna Tony, a local favorite featuring fresh, flavorful Greek cuisine in a Mediterranean-inspired setting. While you’re there, spend some time shopping the many stores of Malibu Country Mart, including big-name brands such as Paige, Vince, and Ted Baker as well as smaller boutiques like Sunroom, Faherty, and Canvas Malibu. For a novel experience, head to Malibu Shaman (the oldest store in the center) for a group tarot card reading, which is sure to spark interesting thought and fun conversation through the evening.

Back at Malibu Beach Inn, spend an hour or two relaxing on Carbon Beach, then enjoy a pre-dinner drink — or even a lesson — at the bar. On Saturday evenings from 5-5:30pm, award-winning bar director Josh Curtis will be hosting Bartending 101 cocktail demos, so you can recreate your girls’ getaway libation at home. Make your way into the dining room for dinner at Carbon Beach Club, where you’ll witness the sun dip into the ocean in spectacular pink-and-orange fashion. After sunset, enjoy locally sourced, seasonally inspired fare paired with glasses from the Wine Spectator Award-winning list.

Day Two

Rise early to take in Malibu’s stunning natural setting with your outdoor activity of choice. Exclusively available to Malibu Beach Inn guests, complimentary yoga is offered on the sands of Carbon Beach every morning from 8-9am. Hiking is another popular pastime in Malibu—just minutes from the property, head out into the rolling hills and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains to enjoy either a leisurely stroll or a heart-pumping climb. For a peaceful adventure on the water, rent stand-up paddleboards from Malibu Surf Shack just across the street from the hotel (they also offer SUP lessons and coastal tours).

After your morning of activity, take a walk over to Malibu Pier to refuel at Malibu Farm Café, located at the end of the pier. Here, fresh-squeezed juices, farm scrambled eggs, Swedish mini pancakes, and more are paired with panoramic ocean views. And as the pier is adjacent to Surfrider Beach, you’re sure to spot some surfers among the waves, too.

Your next stop is Malibu Wine Safari. As the name hints, the 1,000-acre Saddlerock Ranch is home to more than just a vineyard—it’s also a haven for a host of exotic animals, including zebras, camels, alpacas, bison, and more. Reserve the 105-minute Giraffe Tour to enjoy six tastings of locally produced wines, complimentary crackers and spreads, a tour of Saddlerock Ranch & Vineyard (and its wildlife residents), and best of all, a meet-and-greet with the ranch’s most famous star, Stanley the Giraffe. After your expedition, stop in for a late lunch at Carbon Beach Club (and maybe a bit more beach time), then make your way to Veronica Skin & Body Center for some well-deserved pampering. End the day with a group dinner at one of Malibu’s top dining destinations. Make a reservation at Nobu for a glitzy evening of high-end sushi and celebrity spotting, or savor Italian flavors in a warm, inviting setting at Tramonto Bistro.
